Better Jobs Ontario Application Process for Full-time and Micro-credential Programs

The Better Jobs Ontario program strives to help people rejoin the workforce as quickly as possible.

The initiative allows you to join a training program that takes 52 weeks (one year) or less to complete — this includes Sheridan's full-time Certificate and Ontario College Graduate Certificate programs, as well as micro-credential programs offered through Sheridan's Continuing and Professional Studies.

The Better Jobs Ontario initiative requires two separate applications

  1. A Better Jobs Ontario FUNDING application completed with an Employment Consultant.
  2. A COLLEGE application resulting in a Confirmation of Acceptance letter (for full-time programs) or a Letter of Intent (for micro-credential programs). The applicant is responsible for providing this documentation to the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development.

Better Jobs Ontario FUNDING application

Employment Ontario requires you to attend a mandatory government information session, which covers the funding portion of Better Jobs Ontario. Visit the Better Jobs Ontario government website for general information about the initiative.

The Ontario government determines who is eligible to apply for Better Jobs Ontario funding through Employment Ontario Community Employment Services offices.

If you have not already done so, please make an appointment to talk to an Employment Consultant at an office near you. Only an Employment Consultant can determine your eligibility to apply for Better Jobs Ontario funding.

The easiest way to find an office is by searching 'Employment Consultant agency' using Google (or a similar Internet browser) from your home – your device can use the GPS/location function to find the agencies closest to you.

Better Jobs Ontario COLLEGE application

Once you've been approved to apply for Better Jobs Ontario funding, please begin your Ontario college application, as follows.

We strongly encourage you to attend a Better Jobs Ontario Information Session hosted by Sheridan, which covers the college application process.
