Mike began teaching with Sheridan's Con-Ed program in 1998. In 2004, he became a partial load professor in the Pilon School of Business and has since taught much of the program map focusing now on Economics, Statistics and Business Communication. In 2007, he created the course Marketing Report Writing.

From 2005 - 2010, he taught Marketing Research, Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Post-Graduate International Trade courses at Mohawk College. His book, The Survey Project, A Manager's Handbook, was curriculum for 10 semesters and in 2009, he was recognized by Mohawk's President for excellence.

Seventeen years as an Economic Development, Market Research, and Program Evaluation consultant exposed him to projects around the globe including marketing of The Hamriyah Free Zone (U.A.E.); rebuilding war torn Mozambiques economic infrastructure; water security in Sulawesi, Indonesia; and to projects at home including Bramptons Rose Theatre. He has consulted extensively in the private and public sector.

Mikes undergrad began with three years of Biochemistry but finished with a BA in Management/ Economics. Wanting to see the world, he studied Agricultural Economics and International Rural Planning (MSc.) all at the University of Guelph.

He was Assistant Manager, Brampton Board of Trade and then directed marketing at United Van Lines supporting a new international division, writing a feasibility study bringing Mayflower to Canada and framing the National Advertising Policy.

As owner of The Bookshop Caf, he was a Director on the Brampton Downtown Business Association and is a long-term United Way supporter as a Citizen's Review Volunteer and community research, human services design consultant.

In 2010, he became a nationally Certified Marketing Research Professional. A former editor, he is a freelance writer for Demand Media Studios and eHow.com in Economics and Marketing Research.

Recognized by City Council for outstanding contribution to Brampton, Mike designed The Brampton Downtown Ambassador Programs (BDAP) training with Sheridan, Peel Regional Police, The City of Brampton, Ontario Works, and downtown businesses. BDAP immersed high school students and welfare recipients into the business community to develop critical skills and contacts while representing the downtown area for the City.

At the University of Cumbria, Mike is beginning his MBA Dissertation in Leadership and Sustainability exploring the influence of open database collaboration and Big Data analytics on sustainable strategy and public policy making. He will publish Maximum Impact, Minimum Words, a guide to reducing sentence structure, in 2014.
