AbdulHaq Khandwalla joined Sheridan in 2011 after completing a fast-tracked three-year diploma course with high honours from the same institution.
Haq is an internationally trained architect, with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore, Pakistan, and a master’s degree from the University of York in the United Kingdom. The International University Foundation granted him an honorary doctor of science degree in 1989.
Qualified as a registered architect in Kenya, Haq brings a wealth of architectural and constructional knowledge to Sheridan. He ran his own office in Mombasa, Kenya for over 25 years, during which time the group took on approximately 1,000 projects. Haq led residential, commercial, public, religious, medical, educational, industrial and recreational initiatives.
Haq was among the speakers at the International Forum at the Union of International Architects Conference (2005) in Istanbul, Turkey. He was also chairman of the Architectural Association of Kenya, Mombasa Branch and Rotary Club of Bahari, Mombasa.
Haq’s experience ranges from project inception to completion, and encompasses all aspects of project management from both creative and business perspectives.
He has carried out numerous philanthropic architectural services for charitable organizations including Rotary, the Free Masons and the Association for the Disabled of Kenya, and has been honoured with many awards and trophies for his contributions.
